Stage 11 has a thesis:
Total effectiveness = Model Capability × Harness Capability × Operator Capability
Labs spend unfathomable sums on Model. There are uncountable attempts at Harness creation and optimization. But Operator capability is vastly underoptimized.
Model is the core capability — the LLM via API call.
Harness is the scaffolding between human and model: tooling, memory, agent skills, validation loops.
Operator is the human applying judgment — deciding what to build, directing the fleet, catching the model when it's confidently wrong.
All the old skills of a senior engineer of days past are expiring fast. Some subset of those engineers have made the mental paradigm shift into what we call Hyperengineering — a new, emergent, silo-defying skill. Its roots still run through engineering, but it may be equally influenced by product management, with a heavy dose of design and UX / market-research skills, at least in the medium term.
The terms multiply; they don't add. The system is gated by its weakest factor, and a gain in any one term compounds through the rest. The terms aren't equal — Model is the heaviest by far, and the capital chasing it says as much. But weight is not the same as opportunity.
Now look at where the capital goes. Tens of billions into the Model term — labs, chips, training runs. Billions more into the Harness term — every coding agent, IDE, and orchestration layer. And the Operator term? Almost nothing. A global, well-funded race to lift two of the three multipliers, and near-total neglect of the third — the smaller term, granted, but the one with no real capital behind it and the most slack left to give, precisely because the other two are saturating into commodities everyone will share.
That's the mispricing. The operator isn't the biggest term — it's the underinvested one, and the term whose gains are still yours to keep. The leverage is sitting in plain sight.
So the work is clear: build more and better multipliers of the operator.
I'm taking four approaches to this exact problem:
Each of these multiplies the operator a different way, and none of it ships in a model release.
